Jogja Java Carnival Being Tourism Icon of Yogyakarta

Yogya, Jogjatrip.com - Jogja Java Carnival (JJC), which is the culmination of Yogyakarta Anniversary celebration, held every October 7 is expected to be a night carnival party that can be used as the tourism icon of Yogyakarta. In 2011, the city of Yogyakarta, will be in 255 years old, and the Carnival will be held more festive and less distinct than the previous years.
On Friday (19/8), The Mayor of Yogyakarta, Herry Zudianto said that JJC is expected to be last long full of various festival parades which are the series of public participation. This might become an icon of tourism and magnet to attract the visitors as much as possible. Moreover, this could be a barometer which indicating that Yogyakarta is the Art House for everyone.
"I hope Jogja Java Carnival becomes a night carnival party over the reflection of Yogyakarta tourism icon. It should have a strong spirit as Yogyakarta is a city that could be a correct place for everyone to express their artistic expressions. For and from all of us the people of Yogyakarta", said Herry in his dialogue with the Committee JJC 2011 and artists of Yogyakarta.
The Head of the Committee JJC 2011, Ferry Astono revealed that he will print the tickets of JJC after the event of Lebaran (Celebration day at the end of Ramadan Kareem). Those tickets will be printed out about 1500 to 2000 tickets. "The first class tickets will be sold for Rp.500,000.00 and the owners of first class tickets will be placed in the North Square and provided a dinner at Yogyakarta Palace before the event", Ferry said.
For the lower class tickets will be sold for Rp.250,000.00 and Rp.150,000.00. The owners of these tickets will be placed in the area of Malioboro, at the particular point. "As for the public who did not buy ticket and they can watch the carnival for free but no seat for them", he added.
Currently, there are at least nine groups that have been filed for the list of the participant. In addition, there are seven more groups who submitted proposal, and being selected.
